da betsul: Leeds United would have been bitterly disappointed not to come away from their trip to the Hill Dickinson Stadium with all three points in hand on Monday night
da esoccer bet: Instead, Daniel Farke’s Whites had to settle for a 1-1 draw in the Premier League when travelling to Everton, despite dominating a large portion of the contest, especially in the first half, with the away side’s display lauded as “very enjoyable” by journalist James Marshment during the opening 45 minutes.
Unfortunately, Leeds just couldn’t keep up the blistering pace of their first-half display for the full 90 minutes, as the man of the moment for the Toffees, Thierno Barry, made sure of a share of the points, with a thumping finish past Karl Darlow late on.
In the end, Leeds’ inability to kill the game off and go for more goals cost them dear, but there were still many positive displays to latch onto come the full-time whistle.
Leeds' best performers vs Everton
Painfully, as a result of the West Yorkshire outfit not being able to hold onto their slim 1-0 lead, the Whites have now dropped 15 points from winning positions this season.
Still, James Justin would have come off at the end of the disappointing 1-1 draw pleased with his personal performance, as the former Leicester City full-back continues to shine at Leeds, after a £10m switch last summer.
Justin would coolly slot home to gift the visitors the one-goal advantage, with the finish being noted as one of a “centre-forward” by Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Graham Smyth. The attack-minded 27-year-old further completed his defensive duties diligently, as seen in Justin winning a mammoth nine duels and five tackles in total.
Justin wasn’t alone in his endeavour, though, with Brenden Aaronson also battling bravely throughout, as the always tenacious American won five ground duels of his own.
Moreover, Anton Stach stood out as a livewire from the middle of the park during a breathless first half, with two key passes amassed.
Unfortunately for Farke’s men, all the grit and energy on display meant very little when Barry poked a late effort home, with the German now having a selection decision to make when it comes to this consistent weak link in his starting XI.
Leeds star must be dropped after Everton
Leeds dropped back too much in the second half, with David Moyes’ men coming out for the second 45 minutes with far more verve and purpose in their attacking play.
Throughout the back-and-forth contest, Ilia Gruev offered very little from the centre of the park for Farke’s visitors, with the Bulgarian only collecting one assist all season long as a no-thrills option.

His display was rather subdued again on Merseyside, as seen in the table above, with the understated 25-year-old only hitting one shot at Jordan Pickford’s goal, alongside amassing no key passes.
He even accumulated fewer touches of the ball, with just 37 touches managed, than Darlow in between the sticks for Leeds, who came away from the entertaining draw with a heftier 48 next to his name.
The quiet number 44 also failed to launch himself into a single successful tackle during his 66 minutes on the Toffees turf, while only one meagre duel was won from five contested.

Farke could now look to his other midfield personnel, as the games continue to come thick and fast near the bottom of the league, with Ao Tanaka perhaps an inspired replacement, considering the Japan international has two Premier League goals next to his name this season.
Yet, he was far from his best when replacing Gruev during the 1-1 affair, with possession haphazardly given away four times, from just 15 touches of the ball, as the German continues to seek out the most effective full starting XI that can continue Leeds’ positive stretch of results.
While many might deem the 1-1 draw at Everton as two points dropped, considering the Whites’ dominant first half offering, there were lots of positives to take away from the contest, overall, with former Leeds striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink stating post-match that he is “confident” the Premier League newcomers will stay up.
Leeds won’t be counting their chickens just yet, as Farke tries to get even more out of his determined troops, with Gruev in danger of being axed from his first team plans when table-topping Arsenal come to Elland Road next.
