da esoccer bet: Coventry City have now launched an enquiry to sign an in-demand midfielder for Frank Lampard, according to recent reports.

Lampard "very happy" with Millwall victory

da blaze casino: It’s not been pretty as of late, but it doesn’t need to be at this stage of the season. It’s all about results for the Sky Blues, who have maintained a six-point buffer on Middlesbrough at the top of the Championship after getting back to winning ways in their last two outings.

Following three games without victory in the Championship, narrow wins over Leicester City and then Millwall in midweek could be looked back on as decisive in the race to secure promotion.

Speaking to reporters after Tuesday’s win, Lampard couldn’t hide his delight – saying: “I’m very happy, we’ve had two tough games,” said Lampard. “We said that after Leicester who are a strong team who played well here and we still won.

“I think Millwall played well enough, they’re in very good form, and are a strong team who have a good idea about what they’re doing.

“They have good players, very physical and aggressive team and they made it a tough game for us but I think we deserved to win.

“We had a lot of possession in the game. We had the better chances of the game but there was an understanding that they’re always a threat and we had to deal with that. But I thought it was good from us, showing great, great spirit and good quality at the right times. And yeah, of course it’s a big win for us.”

The transfer window has also handed the Coventry boss reason to be pleased. The Sky Blues have already welcomed the likes of Romain Esse and are now attempting to sign another Premier League player, according to reports.

Coventry launch move to sign Frank Onyeka

As reported by The Standard’s Dom Smith, Coventry have now launched an enquiry to sign Frank Onyeka from Brentford this month. The Nigerian midfielder just helped his country to a third-place finish at AFCON and is now after consistent game time at club level.

He’s not short on options, either. Alongside Coventry, Sheffield United have also enquired about Onyeka’s availability this month as the Bees look to hand the 28-year-old a much-needed loan move.

Whilst Onyeka has struggled for minutes at Brentford, he would thrive at Coventry. The Nigerian midfielder originally arrived in West London in 2021, but has failed to make his mark under both Thomas Frank and now Keith Andrews. After heading out on loan at Augsburg last season, another short spell away from the Bees is now on the cards.

Esse’s arrival was impressive from Coventry and Onyeka’s would receive the same plaudits. After a small blip in their race to secure the Championship title, Lampard’s side are back on track on and off the pitch.
