• It was the 1732nd ODI in cricket history.
• It was West Indies’ 427th and Zimbabwe’s 188th match.
• It was the 17th match between these two sides. The record now reads :
  West Indies 13, Zimbabwe 4.

• Umpires JF Fenwick and QJ Goosen were officiating in their fourth and
  ninth match respectively.

• The fourth wicket partnership of 126 runs between Craig Wishart and
  Grant Flower was Zimbabwe’s best for this wicket against West Indies.
  This obliterated the previous best of 114 between Alistair Campbell
  and Andy Flower at Singapore Kallang on September 2,1999. This was
  also the second highest partnership for Zimbabwe for any wicket
  against West Indies after the 186 run unbroken stand between Murray
  Goodwin and Grant Flower at Chester-le-Street on July 16,2000.

• Grant Flower’s 94 was the highest score by a Zimbabwean at number five
  in a match against West Indies. This obliterated his brother Andy’s 89
  at Singapore Kallang on September 2,1999.

• This was Flower’s fifth score in nineties. He became the tenth batsman
  in One-Day Internationals to suffer the misfortune of being dismissed
  or stranded in `ninety’ on five or more occasions. Sri Lanka’s
  Aravinda de Silva have made most such scores – 8.

• Mervyn Dillon has now taken 12 wickets in 8 matches which makes him
  the most successful West Indian bowler against Zimbabwe. He surpassed
  Marlon Samuels’ tally of 11 wickets from 6 matches.

• Shivnarine Chanderpaul, who was dismissed in an unusual mannerflinging the bat onto the stumps attempting a heave. became seventh
  West Indian to be dismissed `hit wicket’ in a ODI . Foud Bacchus and
  Sherwin Campbell have been dismissed in this fashion on two occasions
  each.

• Chanderpaul also became fourth batsman after South Richardson Dave
  Richardson (at Harare on October 22,1995, Sri Lankan Romesh
  Kaluwitharana (at Bulawayo QC on December 12,1999) and fellow team
  mate Ridley Jacobs (at Brisbane on January 13,2001)

• Zimbabwe by losing the match off the penultimate ball recorded its
  second narrowest defeat in ODIs (in terms of balls) after its last
  ball defeat against New Zealand at Dhaka on October 24,1998.

• It was the narrowest defeat for any team on Zimbabwean soil in terms
  of balls. The previous record was made in the third league match of
  this competition between India and Zimbabwe on June 27 when the hosts
  lost the match with just four balls to spare.

• Grant Flower won his ninth Man of the Match award. He now shares the
  record of winning most awards for Zimbabwe alongwith brother Andy and
  Alistair Campbell.
